Talking about movies, movies, movies. I believe movies are one of the best pleasures in life. Nothing better than watching a classic film and talking with others about them. Love the classics the most but will also talk about the newer stuff too. And covering all genres: comedy, action, horror, sci-fi, drama, musicals, etc. Will also discuss TV shows, more of the classics, but occasionally the newer stuff too. And anything else that might be on my mind. Feel free to drop by and have a chat.

Anne Baxter in ALL ABOUT EVE (1950)
The classic film that features Anne as Eve Harrington, the manipulative and wanna-be stage actress who seeks to overtake Broadway diva Margo Channing (the one and only Bette Davis) and become a star herself. Anne sinks her teeth into her role with great intensity as she doesn't care who she tramples over to get what she wants. She may look all innocent and cute but Eve is one woman you don't want to mess with. Ever! One of my all time favorite films.
Film: A+
Anne's performance: A
Such a classic and I love how not only does Eve's appearance change but her entire personality! That's a sign of an amazing performance.
ReplyDeleteShe was pretty conniving in All About Eve--but the she met the master.
ReplyDeleteI agree... a great film!
