Poll tampering for the final match
I've seen this many times before when the tallies in a match started zooming up ridiculously fast over a short period of time. Doris Day just registered over 30 votes in less than 5 minutes, which even with word spreading fast that seems highly irregular. So I have no choice but to restart the match. It only takes one person to ruin the fun and excitement of everyone else. So the first poll is now deleted and the new poll is set up below. It will run through Thursday evening as planned. Sorry to all those were honest about voting the right way.
Doesn't seem irregular to me. I don't think you realize Doris Day's social media reach. Did you not see the celebrations for her 92nd birthday earlier this month? She is truly loved as she should be! Doris can sing, dance and act in comedy as well as heavy drama. She is the whole package the likes of which we will never see again.
ReplyDeleteYeah and normally I would agree with you except Ive seen this before in my previous tourneys when the votes jump so high in like minutes. But if it was on the up and up then the new poll I created should yield the same results. Just want to be fair and keep things honest.

ReplyDeleteGreer may not have as big of a media outreach like Doris. We all just want a fair chance for Greer to win this too. Doris's votes jumped by almost 40 in a matter of not even ten minutes. It wasn't a fair contest, and both ladies deserve an equal chance of winning.
ReplyDeleteI know some Garson fans aren't even able to vote. It says their vote has already been been counted. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteThat's right! And some of our Greer fans can vote from more than one device. I was able to vote yesterday and about an hour ago my vote actually counted. Now it's not at all!?! One of our friends hasn't been able to vote in days!!
DeleteDoris has a much bigger following today than most people realize. She was and is truly one of a kind. I love both ladies, but Doris is just something extra special - always was.

ReplyDeleteThat would be a negative as this has happened before even to my favorite actress Carole Lombard who gained an ungodly amount of votes in like minutes back in 2011. I had to restart it to be fair to irene. So if didn't manipulate it for my favorite actress ever then I definitely wouldn't do it for no one else.

DeleteMonty is not in anyway manipulating the vote to suit his outcome!!! Doris won by gaining almost 40 votes in less than ten minutes. Both Doris and Greer deserve a fair chance to win. But if y'all want to win by "cheating" that's fine. Greer has already won in our hearts
ReplyDeleteIt's only for fun people! Don't get too excited. Everyone has different opinions. I like Doris very, very much but I feel Greer is the better actress and was very unique in her own way, but everyone has their own opinion.

ReplyDeleteHow can you be so sure Doris Day's fans cheated? I'm from Portugal and have been a fan of Doris all my life (my mother led me to that, since she is a fan too)... And - believe me - I've never even heard of Greer Garson. You do know she's much less known than Doris, don't you? I'm a huge Old Hollywood fan and never even heard of Greer Garson's name.

* If DORIS DAY wins, it does not diminish GREER GARSON on iota.

Monty only did what he thought was fair to give Greer an equal chance too. Doris does have the bigger fan base that's for sure from all that I've been reading. Greer Garson fan base has come out in FORCE over the last few rounds to get her this far. And so be it if she loses this year you can GUARANTEE she'll be back next year for another shot. This is all meant to be in "fun" and to be honest it hasn't been "fun" over the last day or so.
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer Doris, but I'll be happy if Greer win too. She was terrific in Mrs. Miniver. And that would be a good excuse for me to see more of her films!

That's absurd - 30 votes in 5 minutes is very easy to have happen in this day of social media. Seems the pollster has done some manipulating this time. Congratulations on getting your own way in this ridiculous poll.
ReplyDeleteIf you would read the next post it was really suspect when greer logged a crazy amount of votes too. So it was compromised both ways and I made a fair decision in making them co-winners. Thanks though...
