Talking about movies, movies, movies. I believe movies are one of the best pleasures in life. Nothing better than watching a classic film and talking with others about them. Love the classics the most but will also talk about the newer stuff too. And covering all genres: comedy, action, horror, sci-fi, drama, musicals, etc. Will also discuss TV shows, more of the classics, but occasionally the newer stuff too. And anything else that might be on my mind. Feel free to drop by and have a chat.

March Madness #18 FRED MacMURRAY
Welcome to Day 18 of MARCH MADNESS!
Every day in March, ALL GOOD THINGS will highlight a Classic film Super-star, you know, the type renowned for really, really B.A.D. to sweetest-dearest-most darling!
DAY #18 Results: GENE TIERNEY - no contest for Day 17, the crowds loves LUCY MUIR over that mean, ol LIONESS, Ellen Berent Harland, "Leave Her To Heaven".
TODAY the spotlight shines on FRED MacMURRAY. Dainty and beautiful, Gene was beloved by her fans for her genteel Lamb-y characters, and equally for her LIONESS roles!
Which do you prefer: LION: rough n' tuff! or LAMB: Sweet & soulful?
Is there ANY question?? IMHO, Walter Neff is one of the greatest Noir roles EVER!! "By the way, Mrs. Didrikson, that's a honey of an anklet!" (when Barbara slinks downstairs in her negligee!)
ReplyDeleteI think Fred MacMurray's performance in Double Indemnity was worthy of the Academy Award. He was SO against type, and he did it brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteSo true! Especially because he was such a nice guy in real life! But most actors say it is always more rewarding to play something so different, so far from your normal self.
