Rear Window rolls to an easy win to grab a spot in the final four

No need to be worried Thelma and Jimmy...Rear Window rolled big time

As expected Rear Window crushed The Man Who Knew Too Much 28-2 in the 50's era of favorite Hitchcock film to advance to the final four. It joins 30's era winner The Lady Vanishes and 40's era winner, Rebecca. I thought Rear Window would win this era but I thought it would have to beat Vertigo. Instead The Man Who Knew Too Much ended up bouncing Vertigo to face Rear Window. Now we must wait on the 60's bracket to see who will claim the last spot. If I was a betting man, I would have to go with Psycho. But we'll see. Anyway congratulations to Rear Window.

My Favorite Things I Love About Deborah Kerr

A new month and a new classic movie goddess means a new favorite things list. This month it's Deborah Kerr and without any more delay here are some reasons why I love her so much.

Her amazing accent...just a wonderful sounding voice

She played a lot of prim and proper Englishwomen but I also loved her when she played the not so prim
and proper characters such as Karen Holmes in From Here To Eternity.

Her pairings with Cary Grant, which is really an answer for every actress that co-starred with Cary.

Made the best nanny/governess par none. See The King and I, The Innocents, and The Chalk Garden.

Displayed a flair for light comedy that I wished she was able to use in more films.

Without question, one of the most beautiful women that ever lived.

Made one of the best adventure films ever..King Solomon's Mines

The 60's Era for fave Hitchcock film gets underway

As the 50's era final match is now battling for top film of that respective era, we begin round one of the 60's era of favorite Hitchcock film. As I stated before I had to use North By Northwest and Hitch's final two films from the 70's to have a complete and even bracket for this decade. Since North by Northwest opened in 1959 anyway, it seemed like the perfect fit. Anyway this round starts today and will run thru Thursday 8 pm EST. Good luck to all the films.

Errol Flynn defeats Tyrone Power quite easily in Classic Stars Match Play

Flynn is all smiles after his win over Tyrone Power...

The swashbucklers clashed and when it was over Errol Flynn was victorious with a 20-7 whipping of Tyrone Power. Flynn boosts his match play record to 3-1 while Power drops to 0-2, still looking for his first match play win. Thanks to all those who voted. A new match will be up before the week is out.

REAR WINDOW vs THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH in the 50's era of favorite Hitchcock Film Tournament

After having the top seeds in the 30's and 40's era advance to the final four of the favorite Hitchcock film tournament, the 50's era will not have it's top seed present. Vertigo was ousted by 5th seed The Man Who Knew Too Much 10-8 in a surprise upset. In the other match, 2nd seed Rear Window easily handled Dial M For Murder 12-3. That sets the stage for Rear Window to take on The Man Who Knew Too Much and the winner earns a trip to the final four. The match begins immediately and runs thru Wednesday 8 pm EST.
