Day Three Final Results for 50'S/60'S ERA
While the 30's and 40's eras first round are still going on due to a slight time difference the 50's and 60's eras are officially in the books. Well half of the categories are anyway. Here are the results from the 60's era first. And below are the 50's results.
60'S ERA BRACKET
DRAMA QUEENS
JULIE CHRISTIE def TIPPI HEDREN 43-26
SUSANNAH YORK def LIV ULLMAN 31-28
LEE REMICK def JEAN SEBERG 44-20
CATHERINE DENEUEVE def SHARON TATE 54-15
SOPHISTICATES
JEAN SIMMONS def BARBARA SHELLEY 54-12
CLAUDIA CARDINALE def BRIGITTE BARDOT 33-30
FAYE DUNAWAY def VERA MILES 46-23
ANNE BANCROFT def ROMY SCHNEIDER 45-23
The most exciting matches of this era were between Susannah York and Liv Ullman who battled back and forth the entire three days before York finally held on to win 31-28. And Claudia Cardinale and Brigitte Bardot had one heck of a battle which saw Cardinale dominate day 1 and Bardot rally on day 2 before Claudia put her away on day 3. So the eight women who won this week move on to round two next week. Congratulations to all the actresses who competed and good luck to the ones who move on.
50'S ERA BRACKET
DRAMA QUEENS
ELIZABETH TAYLOR def SHELLEY WINTERS 62-22
ANNE BAXTER def ELEANOR PARKER 42-35
SUSAN HAYWARD def JENNIFER JONES 55-25

SOPHIA LOREN def ANNE FRANCIS 49-32
AUDREY HEPBURN def DOROTHY MALONE 57-24
DEBORAH KERR def KIM NOVAK 53-35
Seven of the eight matches were blow-outs. The one close match was between Anne Baxter and Eleanor Parker as Baxter rallied from down as many as 13 points to overtake Parker and pull off the comeback victory. Congrats to all the talented women of this era as well. And good luck to the eight that move on to round 2 next week.
Tomorrow begins first round action of the other two categories...Funny Ladies/Girls Next Door and Singers/Dancers. Those matches will run through Saturday night. I will also post the results from the 30's and 40's eras tomorrow as well.
