March Madness: Lion or Lamb
My good friend Katrina came up with this wonderful idea called March Madness: Lion or Lamb, featuring polls on classic movie stars and their film roles either being like a lion or a lamb in nature of their performance. Since it's March, she has called it Lion or Lamb, which is very clever. So their will be a different poll everyday to vote on and the first one features Bette Davis in Human Bondage and The Petrified Forest as the choices!

Cinematic World Tour: BARCELONA (1994)
Next stop on our cinematic world tour...Barcelona. One of my favorite modern films set in gorgeous Barcelona where the views are just spectacular. The story centers on cousins who are so very different trying to meet the women of their dreams. Ted (played by Taylor Nichols) is a salesman who works in the Barcelona office for a U.S. corporation. He's a little uptight and stuffy. His cousin Fred, a Naval officer (played by Chris Eigeman) comes to visit him and is a lot more loose. And he takes it upon himself to find Ted a suitable mate, which leads to some outrageous situations. Especially since Fred likes to tell every woman they come across that his cousin is into the Marquis de Sade and wearing leather underwear, the kind that is very, very tight. You should see the reaction the women have when he tells them that. Their eyes get very wide and immediately go downward. One of the girls is played by Mira Sorvino, probably the most known person in this entire film who plays sexually charged Marta. She hooks up with Fred. While Ted meets the girl of his dreams in the form of.the lovely and the wonderfully named Montserrat Raventos (played by Tushka Bergen), a free spirited Spaniard who dreams of moving to America.

Cinematic World Tour heads to Westworld
My friend Kristen of Journeys in Classic Film has written her first contribution post to the Cinematic World Tour blogathon. Her trip finds her at Westworld, the 1973 scif-fi thriller where tourists get the ultimate thrill in theme park attractions. Yeah these attractions end up wanting to kill you. One of the main robots is Yul Brynner and he is relentless. Westworld..a vacation to die for..literally! Check out Kristen;s wonderful post here: journeysinclassicfilm

Word is spreading about the cinematic world tour as Rich from Wide Screen World sent me an email last night letting me know he had written a post as a contribution piece. And after reading his piece about Tokyo, I have to say it is one of the more creative pieces I have ever read. I had so much fun reading it, I went back to read it a few more times. Another Cinematic World Tour post..this time from They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To
Patti of They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used To has posted her contribution to the cinematic world tour blogathon and hers is a beaut. Set on a cruise ship, her film choice is Dangerous Crossing (1953) starring Jeanne Crain and Michael Rennie. Please go to her wonderful blog to check out her terrific post. And like Whistlingypsy's earlier entry, Rome Adventure, I haven't seen Dangerous Crossing either. So that has been added to my must see list as well. Here's the link to go on this wonderful cruise: classicmoviesnippets.blogspot.com/dangerous-crossing

Another cinematic world tour post....from fellow blogger Whistlingypsy
Just wanted to let everyone know that Whistlingypsy of Distant Voices and Flickering Shadows has just wrote her contribution piece to the Cinematic World Tour blogathon. Her destination is Rome and the film she chose is Rome Adventure (1962) starring Suzanne Pleshette, Angie Dickinson and Troy Donahue. And I think it is a wonderful post. She really outdid herself with it. I had mentioned to her that I recorded this film last summer on TCM and that it promptly has sat unwatched in my movie cabinet. But after reading her terrific post, oh I'm gonna watch me some Rome Adventure this weekend. Please go to her blog to check out this amazing piece.
