My Favorite Things I love about Jean Arthur

A new month means a new classic movie goddess. And it's Jean Arthur. And here is my favorite things that I love about her.

1. One of my favorite screwball comediennes. She starred in some of the best of the screwball genre like Easy Living (1937), The Devil and Miss Jones (1941), The More The Merrier (1943) and Too Many Husbands (1940).

2. For my money, she was the best actress to appear in the films of Frank Capra in You Can't Take It With You (1938) and Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939).

3. That wonderful, endearing voice of hers.

4. Her versatility...comedies, dramas, westerns...she was adept in everything she did.

5. A class act all the way.

6. Simply beautiful!

My love of classic films is beyond measure

My Favorite Things I love about Greta Garbo

Today marks the first day of a new month which means a new classic movie goddess. And that honor goes to the one and only Greta Garbo. All month long I will post pics, facts, trivia, and of course reviews of her films.

I will begin with my usual series called My Favorite Things. The things I love most about Greta.

1. The voice. Her very distinct voice was one of the best assets Greta had.

2. Her face. So beautiful and was actually her nickname at one point.

3. A true icon. You say Garbo, and everybody knows who you are talking about.

4. While she did tons of melodramas, my favorite film of hers is the romantic comedy, Ninotchka.

5. Her great style of fashion. No one looked better in a beret than she did.

6.  Extremely talented. Watch any of her films and it is acting 101. Pure and simple.

7. Just because...she is GARBO!

My Favorite Things I Love About Teresa Wright

I always do a post listing my favorite things I love about the classic movie goddess of the month. For Teresa Wright, where to begin..

I loved her smile. She had one of the best smiles I have ever seen.

I loved her easy going and natural acting ability. She had great chemistry with everybody she worked with.

I think the phrase 'girl next door' was coined specifically for her...very much the girl next door.

In every film I have seen of Teresa, she always manage to stand out just because of her presence.
She didn't have to have a grandstanding scene either..all she had to do was just be there.

The Best Years Of Our Lives, The Pride of The Yankees, Mrs. Miniver and Shadow of a Doubt are four of my favorite films of all time.

A wonderful and beautiful woman.

Classy.

And she seemed so gosh darned nice.

I could go on and on about Teresa too. She is one of my fave actresses of all time. Currently number 12. And ahead of such big names like Stanwyck, Garbo, Harlow and De Havilland. Yeah, that's right!

My Favorite Things I Love About Jean Harlow

Here are some favorite things that I love about Jean Harlow, this month's classic movie goddess.

1. Her sass and firecracker of a personality.

2. Her undeniable sex appeal that was never in your face, but just there. A lot of stars today
try to do more to be sexy while it came naturally for Jean.

3. Her comedic talents made her one of the best actresses to star in screwball comedies.

4. And she was no slouch when it came to drama as well.

5. Great chemistry with Clark Gable.

6. An amazing resume considering her short career that ended to her early death.

7. She seemed to be like she always was having fun no matter what.

8. And I just love that name...Harlow!

My Favorite Things I Love About Deborah Kerr

A new month and a new classic movie goddess means a new favorite things list. This month it's Deborah Kerr and without any more delay here are some reasons why I love her so much.

Her amazing accent...just a wonderful sounding voice

She played a lot of prim and proper Englishwomen but I also loved her when she played the not so prim
and proper characters such as Karen Holmes in From Here To Eternity.

Her pairings with Cary Grant, which is really an answer for every actress that co-starred with Cary.

Made the best nanny/governess par none. See The King and I, The Innocents, and The Chalk Garden.

Displayed a flair for light comedy that I wished she was able to use in more films.

Without question, one of the most beautiful women that ever lived.

Made one of the best adventure films ever..King Solomon's Mines
