ALL GOOD THINGS in April

Actress Sharon Farrell

Don't expect things to slow down on my blog for April. After my classic movie actress tournament winds down and I crown a champion on April 1st, I will keep things popping. First up will be a slight change for my classic movie goddess. I recently came into contact with actress Sharon Farrell through facebook and I was just going to do a spotlight on her in April but she has had such a varied and long career, I decided to make her my star actress of the month. My original choice Betty Grable will now be the star for January 2012. Sorry to all Betty fans, but who better to kick off the new year than Ms. Grable. My guest blogger will be Amanda from A Noodle in a Haystack. She will be answering some questions and talking about her favorites. Also I will be doing a cross-over with Irene from And Then They Start To Sparkle. I believe our theme will be films with fighting women, which is basically recalling films with noted confrontation scenes between women such as All ABout Eve, Destry Rides Again and Valley of the Dolls to name a few. We will critique and post pics and all kinds of random stuff about this fabulous theme. Oh and I was going to have a poll asking whether or not you guys would want to see another tournament in June this time focusing on the men. But since the women's was so successful and well liked, I figured that would be a no brainer. So expect a tourney starting in June featuring the guys. And finally expect the usual birthdays, reviews, photos that I do every month.

All Good Things in February

Ah, the month of love. Who better than Vivien Leigh to be my classic movie goddess. I will be posting about Viv all month long with photos, facts and reviews of her films. My friend Debbie will be my guest for the month and Leigh happens to be one of her favorite actresses. Hopefully Debbie will shed some light on that subject of why Viv is one of her faves. Me and Dawn will be focusing on Great Screen Couples across our shared blogs. So look forward to posts on legendary couples such as Hepburn/Tracy, Bogie/Bacall, Powell/Loy and lots more. And I believe that me and that wonderful great new friend of mine, Irene Palfy of And Then They Start To Sparkle, will be doing some type of cross-over between our two blogs. I don't know what that will entail yet but knowing  Irene, it should be something wild and crazy and fun. And in honor of Liz Taylor's birthday, I will be ranking my top 10 favorite screen performances of hers. So expect great things here on All Good Things in February. See ya soon.

All Good Things in January

Here is a preview of what I will be doing on my blog in the month of January. The classic movie goddess will be the lovely Jeanne Crain, who I feel never got the attention she deserved. I will do the usual posts about her life and films with facts and photos. My guest blogger will be my friend and co-worker Mariah Meyer, who just adores Irene Dunne, among her many favorite classic actors and actresses. I can't wait to read her responses to my questions. I will post my top 10 favorite movies of 2010, which despite the slew of negative critiques, wasn't too bad of a year. And finally, I will start a new series that will compare a classic movie actor/actress with their modern counterpart. To kick of the first one will be Jimmy Stewart and Tom Hanks, which I think most people will understand that comparison. So here's to another great year on All Good Things, and I hope everyone will keep checking it out.

All Good Things in December

Greetings everyone! Just wanted to let you guys know what's on deck for December. My classic movie goddess will be the fabulous Barbara Stanwyck, who stars in my favorite Christmas movie of all time, Christmas In Connecticut. I will post about her with photos and facts and a list of her essential films through-out the month. I will also do a top ten list of my favorite Christmas films, but I guess you already know what number 1 is now. My guest blogger for the month will be Anastasia of the wonderful blog Lily Lemontree. And I will have more assorted goodies as I wrap up my first full year of blogging. When I started All Good Things back in October 2009, I only had a few followers. Now I have over 80. Thanks to everyone who has chosen my blog to read and peruse through. I hope to keep things going in 2011 and keep improving as much as I can. I know I already got a sollid line-up for my classic movie goddesses and working on an equally great list of guest bloggers. But anyway, I hope everyone has a great holiday season and check out All Good Things from time to time.

Happy One Year Anniversary to All Good Things

The Best Years of Our Lives
I can't believe it's already been a year since I started blogging. And I can't believe that I almost didn't remember today was the 1 year anniversary. And considering my love of movies, I can't believe I never blogged before last year. Well, I'm making up for lost time now as I recently hit 385 posts. I also have met a lot of friends and fellow bloggers. A few that have turned into real good friends such as Dawn of Noir & Chick Flicks. I actually contribute to several of her wonderful blogs such as Doris Day, Esther Williams, and Singing and Dancing Through Time. We make quite the team. Also there is Tracy aka Gilby37, who I met on What We're Watching on TV. She's been a great friend as well. And Kori of Blonde Episodes, who told me I was one of her few male followers of her blog. And Kori was my first to be my guest on my blog when I started that ongoing series. Other friends include KC, Tom, Sarah, Paul, Laura, Anastasia, Irene and countless more. It's a joy to share with this wonderful blogging community. I look forward to each new day because there are always some great blogs to read. So happy one year anniversary to All Good Things. And I hope to be blogging for many more years to come. The photo above from the film The Best Years of Our Lives fits this occasion perfectly.
