CAROLE LOMBARD - My Favorite Actress

Ginger Rogers is the 2012 Favorite Classic Movie Actress

And that's a wrap ladies and gentlemen....

With a resounding 144-25 victory over Natalie Wood, the favorite classic movie actress of 2012 is Ginger Rogers. Once Ginger beat the 2011 champion Irene Dunne, it was a foregone conclusion that she would win the whole shebang. Her huge fanbase came out in droves and pushed the triple threat diva to an impressive tourney championship. Once again a 1930's actress claimed the top prize leaving the runner-up spot to 60's era winner Natalie Wood. Wood was a final four finalist last year, and this year made it to the championship match. So she is inching her ever so closely to a title for herself perhaps? Or maybe another 30's era actress will claim next year? Maybe my girl Carole Lombard will finally win one. Who knows, but it will be fun trying to find out come next year. A big thanks to John of Mythical Monkey and Desiree of Rosalind Russell for assisting with this terrific event. And to everyone who took time to come by and vote, thank you very much. And once again, Ginger Rogers...champion of 2012..congratulations!

Ginger is on top of the world after her huge victory...

Awesome tournament and it's given my upcoming tourney a lot to live up to. You've definitely inspired me on the right way to do this! Although I'm still sad Natalie didn't win.

...well, that's the whole point, isn't it Kim? :-]
...Kate is solidly in first place in the 'MoviesUnlimited' poll... I have a link over on Gingerology to it... I don't think she is in any peril over on that one, although Ginger is creeping up a few spots...

Thanks again to everyone who 'hosted' this tourney, and to all of the G-ologists out there! Great to know there are so many OUT there!

Great that Ginger won!

But, as I have commented over at MM, I truly feel that Ginger's crown should be 'retired' for next year's tourney, due to all the 'unrest' caused this year...

Thanks again, y'all, and..

Keep It Gingery!

BTW...awesome pic up top, Monty! I've not seen that one - most likely from the ONLY Ginger movie not readily available, 'Hat Check Girl'... Thanks!

I had a feeling Ginger would come out on top! She's feisty.

A fun round!

You all put together an awesome tournament!! It was loads of fun being a part of it.

A huge congratulations to Ginger. Since she is my husband's "beloved," he is more than in agreement with the results. And since my little Ginger dog was named in honor of the lovely Miss Rogers, by default I guess that makes her favorite "celebrity dog" for the year.

Hope you're having a great evening!!
