There were no upsets or surprises in the first round of the 60's era bracket of the Classic Movie Actor Tournament. All the top ranked seeds won their respective matches. The biggest winner was 4th seed Jack Lemmon who trounced 13th seed Clint Eastwood 30-6. Number 1 seed Paul Newman had his way with 16th seed Michael Caine 24-11. The only real close match was between 3rd seed Sidney Poitier and 14th seed Walter Matthau. The two battled back and forth the whole match until Sidney finally pulled away 20-16.
